Jay Leno stepped down from his post on The Tonight Show on Thursday after 22 years as host of the NBC late night program (with an infamous nine-month leave in between). Just about five years ago, Leno first said goodbye to The Tonight Show on May 29, 2009 with guests James Taylor and his intended successor Conan O’Brien.

But on Thursday, Feb. 6, Leno's final final Tonight Show came full circle with his last guest Billy Crystal, who was also his first guest on May 25, 1992. Crystal also appeared on Leno's 2009 penultimate episode and sang an ode to the late night comedian's legendary chin. This time, he offered a Leno-specific take on The Sound of Music's “So Long, Farewell” with some very special guests and the Shut Your Von Trapp Family Singers.
