*Löwenburg* – Limited Edition Local 13 Series I wrote a free tutorial about Luminosity Masks here: bit.ly/1chcFkv English (see below for German): We decided on short notice to go for a walk last night and ended up hiking the Löwenburg. The timing was perfect and arrived just around sunset. This photo was taken shortly after sunset. I tried various compositions but finally settled on this one. It seems that everything comes together just perfectly here. Processing techniques: Due to the limited dynamic range of today’s cameras I hand-blended a total of 8 exposures. 5 exposures for the sky, tree, structures, etc. and another 3 exposures were used for the foreground only. I processed the 5 exposures first, then the 3 exposures, which were taken with a different focus point and finally focus stacked the three exposures for a sharp foreground with the 5 exposures for the background. Afterwards, I just made slight curves adjustments to increase contrast and sharpened the image. I made all adjustments and blending with luminosity masks. It took me about 3 hours to process this shot, which has a final output size of 2.43 GB. Deutsch: Wir haben gestern Abend kurzfristig entschlossen noch etwas rauszugehen und sind letztendlich auf der Löwenburg im Siebengebirge gelandet. Wir kamen rechtzeitig zum Sonnenuntergang an. Dieses Bild entstand kurz nach Sonnenuntergang und nachdem ich mehrere Blickwinkel erfolglos versucht hatte.Hier scheint jedoch alles zu passen und ich bin happy mit dem Resultat. Entwicklungsprozess: Ich habe 8 Belichtungen von hand zusammengefügt. Die ersten fünf für den Himmel, Wolken, Baum, Strukturen, etc. und die anderen 3 für den Vordergrund. Zuerst habe ich die 5 Belichtungen verarbeitet und anschließend die 3 für den Vordergrund, die mit einer anderen Fokuseinstellung aufgenommen wurden im sogenannten Focus Stacking verarbeitet um das Bild von vorne bis hinten durchgehend scharf zu bekommen. Anschließend noch mit Curves Adjustment Layern den Kontrast verbessert und einen Schärfefilter verwendet. Alles wurde mit Luminosity Masken bearbeitet. Gesamte Bearbeitungsdauer ca. 3 Stunden mit einer finalen Dateigröße von 2.43 GB. André www.andredistel.com bit.ly/19B6tY2
