The Eastern Fjords of Iceland offer dramatic and encompassing views of steeply rising mountains, powerful waterfalls, oceanic inlets and the more-than the occasional sheep. The experience trekking around here was one of the highlights of my iceland trip.

Hopefully the local mountains are in the process of collecting more snow, so I can get a little bit more of an experience of winter. Sorry to throw more reposts up, but I can’t live with the fact of having a better version of an image on my harddrive. Oh, and 500px doesn’t have a replace option.

Hi Guys! Here is my fact number 9 of 12 why travelling in winter times to iceland will simply blow your mind.

9. Fact: Still can swim outside in winter – In Iceland you can find many of the so-called “hot pots”. A hot pot is a spring that is produced by the emergence of geothermally heated groundwater. As normaly the water temperature in a hot pot is above body temperature (37,5°C / 99.5 °F) you can still take a swim in winter without getting cold. For many of these hot pots you don’t even have to pay entry fees. If you are interested in visiting a hot spot check out following links:

I decided to give this image of Haifoss a revisit under my newest workflow. I love the accentuated colors of this canyon during overcast conditions. Anyways, excuse all the reposting and my various fumblings as I attempt to reanimate in the image as much drama as I remember witnessing at the scene. Sort of throwing out a lucky rabbit’s foot in hopes this will break me out of my 500px funk I have been in over the last handful of images.
