“Glowing Vestrahorn” Portrait Version – Stokksnes – Iceland

I have researched this wonderful place from home and always wanted to work with a reflection. Once there, this was not so easy. Strong winds and difficult compo-conditions made me a spanner in the works. The light was dim and gray, and the right peak was in constant fog.
So I took no photo and tried my luck two days later. Although I had 400 km drive back because I was already in Vik. But the weather was pounding on sun with partly clouds.
My buddy Felix and me arrived late in the evening and after another chilly night in the car a wonderful rich morning light in which no breeze was blowing met us. In fact, I was able to implement my plan and even was allowed to see auroras marvel over the glacier lagoon later in the evening… Sometimes I really love my job. If only I had not have to bury my D800E in the sea the same evening :-(.
