9. Fact: Still can swim outside in winter – In Iceland you can find many of the so-called “hot pots”. A hot pot is a spring that is produced by the emergence of geothermally heated groundwater. As normaly the water temperature in a hot pot is above body temperature (37,5°C / 99.5 °F) you can still take a swim in winter without getting cold. For many of these hot pots you don’t even have to pay entry fees. If you are interested in visiting a hot spot check out following links:

The beach of Reynisfjara and the walls of towering Reynisfjall are a true display of how bizarre and fascinating volcanic rocks formations can be.
While visiting this wonder of nature I also had the luck of a very moody sunrise that in my opinion gave the right atmosphere to the location.
