This Bald Eagle was soaring high over the Nooksack River (seen in the background) on an early winter morning hunt for spawning salmon. The Nooksack River is located in the Mt Baker region in Northern Washington State near the Canadian border. This area is near the town of Deming, Washington and is believed to have the largest concentration of Bald Eagles in the lower 48 states during the salmon runs. Although the Stellers Sea Eagle on the right hand side and the White-tailed Eagle on the left hand side don’t seem very impressed one has to admit that the look in the eye and the spread wings of the incoming Stellers Sea Eagle certainly do have something impressive.
Shot taken on the floating ice in Nemuro Strait a few miles Northeast of Rausu on Hokkaido, Japan.
Regards and have a nice Sunday,
Harry
