I just returned back to Iceland after our
East Greenland Adventure

Greenland is a raw and isolated country, where most of the native inuits still live as hunters. I instantly got interested in the sled dogs, which I experienced more as wild animals than ever a regular dog. Sled dogs are still used by some rural communities in Greenland, the dogs have for several thousand years played a crucial role in hunting communities in Greenland and continues to play an important part for hunters in isolated locations. Most of the dogs are kept in special dog areas in the outskirt of the settlements or islands out in the fjords. Most hunters in Greenland favor dog sled teams over snowmobiles as the dog sled teams are more reliable.
