The peaceful and tranquil Punchbowl Falls Gorge in Oregon’s amazing Columbia RIver Gorge is a special place. Part of the uber-popular Eagle Creek trail – one of the finest hikes in the Pacific Northwest if not the entire USA – the Punchbowl is punctuated by the signature Punchbowl Falls. But to get to the view of the falls is not always easy – often time, and on this occasion, wading into the clear, swift-moving water is required. The result of wet boots and frozen feet is so worth it to get this view!

There is a unique seashore where I visit every time I go back to my home town, Ibaraki, Japan.

This set of unique shape of rocks were (claimed to be) remaining of Jurassic era.

The rocks themselves look like the backbones of dinosaur don’t they?

Check out my latest tutorial on ND filters!

It actually surprise me that so few people know about Glijufrabui waterfalls. It is located just 500 meters from the very popular Seljalandfoss, but I guess most people are to lazy to walk that far!
To get this shot I was standing in the rushing river with my waders, constantly wiping my lens to avoid wet spots all over the image. Even with a 0.6 second shutter, I got many of them! It was one soaked camera and one soaked photographer walking back out of the cave. Possibly the most challenging image I’ve ever taken! Like others have done before me, I had to take a selfie on the rock, but I wanted to get a different approach then most people, something I feel I managed to do.

Also I must say, at places like this, you realise how small you are.. 🙂

Taking a beautiful scene as beautiful in nature is pretty hard to me.
Rather I think I’m good at finding a hidden beauty in urban area.

So every Autumn I am always overwhelmed by its colorful, vivid, beautiful appearance.
However last year I could manage to shot some beautiful autumn scenes. So allow me to upload one of them even in the midst Winter.

This was from Mt,Minou, Osaka, where I live nearby. (Chech the map)
Minou is a famous sightseeing spot in Osaka, and every year so many people come to see its beautiful autumn leaves, and water fall.
But this place is a bit out of the main course. so no one come into “this area”. So I was lucky to find them.

Búðahraun lava fields on the west coast of Iceland. Largely covered in moss, they contain these beautiful hollows where vegetation thrives sheltered from the wind. If you look closely you can see the waterfall Bjarnarfoss in the distance 🙂
