My alarm woke me up at 0400 am, after driving more than four hours (most of the time in total darkness) I ended up by the foot of this mountain..;). Hard to describe the feelings inside a tired photographers heart when you get light like this..!

The photo belongs to one of my fav and usual spots in Lofoten Islands, Norway. It is called Hamnøya and it’s right after you pass Reine to Svolvær direction. This shot was taken during the month of July, where the sun doesn’t go below the horizon, so at this moment, its actually a sunset and sunrise combined… I used my 14-24 mm here as well, and a GND was on top of an ND1000 for the 30 sec exposure.

Please share your thoughts and vote if you like.

The last tip of light illuminates the snowy peaks of Flakstad from the beach of Skagsanden, on of the most beautiful in all the archipelago. My photo workshop in Norway continues…

Title refer to one of the chapters in “The chronicles of Narnia”, and visiting Bø in Vesterålen a couple of days ago gave me the inspiration and the feeling of actually being a part of the fantasy novel written by C.S. Lewis. The small island out there to the left is named Spjøten, and the mountain to the right is named Engenyken. Bø in Vesterålen is a a municipality located west on the very big island Langøya. The region Vesterålen (which Bø is a part of) can easily be compared to the more famous neighbor region in south, Lofoten. It is really a place worth visiting if you have the chance;)!

This telephoto picture was taken in 2013 and edited now. I remember the dramatic light display, but wasn´t very happy with the end result. Decided to publish it anyway. Looking back, I should perhaps done more with the situation.
