*The Colorful End*
Last night Griffin, Michael and I headed out to Lands End for another 90% Skunk possibility. But then again we knew there was a slight chance it could blow up like last week at Rodeo Beach. And if you don’t go, you won’t get anything!

I definitely struggled finding a comp that I was happy with here. However, there was this flower bed, which I have actually shot before and didn’t like the shot I got. I think this time though, I am pretty happy with the outcome. This is a 6 image focus stack.

An almost rainbow over Face Rock Beach in Bandon, Oregon at sunrise. I was shooting towards the south when I turned around to see this hint of a rainbow. At first I thought it was just a streak in the sky from a plane or something. When I realized a rainbow was trying to appear, I hopped off the rock I was on and ran over to set up for a nice comp but it quickly fizzled out. I’ve always wanted to catch a rainbow but never do.

“She’s got class and style
Street knowledge by the mile,
Baby never act wild
Very low key on the profile
Catching villains is a no,
Let me tell you how it goes
Curves the words, spins the verb
Lovers it curves so freak what you heard…”

This has been on repeat….

THOR’S WELL REVISITED:

To photograph ThorsWell the way I wanted required putting myself in harms way. When a big wave rolls in this hole erupts like a geyser. The trick is to catch it with a long exposure as it rolls back out without getting knocked down by a rouge. Suffice it to say I got wet…

I’m going back through images from last year’s adventures looking for some images to refinish in Onone, Inc.’s new Perfect Suite 9. I really like how this one came out. It was an awesome night with great friends, wet clothes and unfortunately a sprained ankle.

This and other new prints are available for online order here Handmade limited editions and large installation prints will be available soon. My new print studio is nearly finished.

I must be quite back-logged as I’m still editing pics from last summer. Oh well, not a bad problem to have! After taking the past few months off from photography, I’m finally going through my mountain of files. Up first is this sunrise near the Mt. Baker ski area. I’ve been up to this area near Mt. Baker quite a few times and was finally rewarded with a good sunrise behind the famed Mt. Shuksan. Enjoy!

…as per usual, view on black.

Jagged peaks reflect in Upper Tank Lake, Alpine Lakes Wilderness. Not the easiest place to get into but well worth the effort. The stars up here were incredible that night, so much so that I forgot to take any pictures of them and just sat on a granite slab staring face to face with the Milky Way for several hours. Sometimes its well worth it to not take any pictures and just take your surroundings in.

Alpine Lakes Wilderness is probably my most favorite place in the world. Not a year goes by where I am not backpacking out to one of its 700+ lakes. Near the end of 2014 congress passed a bill that encompasses and protects an additional 22,000 acres of forest, lakes and rivers which is a huge win for for the environment and Washington.
