Le Tre Cime di Lavaredo sono tre delle cime più famose delle Alpi, nelle Dolomiti di Sesto. Sono considerate tra le meraviglie naturali più note nel mondo dell’alpinismo. Si possono raggiungere dal lago di Misurina, da Auronzo di Cadore e dalla Val di Sesto e permettono la vista panoramica delle cime circostanti e del Parco Naturale Tre Cime. Le Tre Cime di Lavaredo assomigliano vagamente a tre dita, che puntano verso il cielo compatte, armonicamente allineate, apprezzate dagli estimatori per forme e colori. La famosa parete settentrionale è situata completamente sul territorio di competenza del comune di Dobbiaco, anche se le Tre Cime di Lavaredo sono state da tempo immemorabile nel comune di Auronzo di Cadore in provincia di Belluno, infatti solo dal 1752 il confine corre giusto sopra le cime, e 3/4 del massiccio è rimasto nel comune di Auronzo ed è quindi veneto. Fra il 1915 e il 1917 le vette delle Lavaredo costituirono il fronte di guerra. Di questo periodo rimangono ancora evidenti resti (trincee, gallerie, baraccamenti) sul massiccio e sul vicino Monte Paterno.
The Three Peaks are three of the most famous peaks in the Alps, the Dolomites of Sesto. Are considered among the best known natural wonders in the world of mountaineering. You can reach the lake Misurina from Auronzo and the Val di Sesto and allow a panoramic view of the surrounding peaks and the Natural Park of the Three Peaks. The Three Peaks vaguely resemble three fingers pointing skyward compact, harmonically aligned, appreciated by connoisseurs for shapes and colors. The famous north wall is located entirely within the territory of competence of the town of Dobbiaco, although the Three Peaks have been from time immemorial in the municipality of Auronzo in the province of Belluno, in fact, only from 1752, the border runs right over the tops , and three quarters of the massif has remained in the municipality of Auronzo and is therefore Venetian. Between 1915 and 1917 the peaks of Lavaredo constituted the war front. Of this period are still visible remains (trenches, tunnels, barracks) on the solid and on the nearby Monte Paterno.

After a long ride started at 03:30 PM in Kerlingarfjöll in the middle of Iceland I finally arrived at Kirkjufell after midnight.
This shot was done arround 3 AM. My intention was to capture the feeling of the icelandic summer, the amazing light, the light breeze from the ocean, wavy cotton grass, pure easiness.

Midnight sun over Kirkjufell. Despite being photographed a lot, this is still a breathtaking scenery.
Since my brand new 16-35mm f/4 ceased working on my very first day in Iceland, I had to do a lot of panoramic stitching and this one consists of 3 vertical images at 24mm.
Coming up with something new here is very tought but I still felt this particular composition was a bit different. Hope you like it.

Il lago di Braies (Pragser Wildsee in tedesco) è un piccolo lago alpino situato in Val di Braies (una valle laterale alla Val Pusteria) a 1.496 m s.l.m. nel comune di Braies (BZ), a circa 97 km da Bolzano. Il lago giace ai piedi dell’imponente parete rocciosa della Croda del Becco (ted. Seekofel, lad. Sass dla Porta 2.810 m) e si trova all’interno del parco naturale Fanes – Sennes e Braies. Ha un’estensione di circa 31 ettari con una lunghezza di 1,2 km e una larghezza di 300-400 metri. È uno dei laghi più profondi della provincia autonoma di Bolzano, con ben 36 metri di profondità massima e una profondità media di 17. Il lago è di origine franosa, in quanto la sua creazione è dovuta allo sbarramento del rio Braies a causa di una frana staccatasi dal Sasso del Signore. Il lago è una meta turistica, che attira per il colore blu intenso delle sue acque limpide e per lo scenario naturale in cui è immerso. In effetti il lago è circondato su tre lati da cime dolomitiche, tra cui la Croda del Becco. Il lago è il punto di partenza dell’Alta via n. 1 delle Dolomiti detta “La classica” che arriva fino a Belluno ai piedi del Gruppo dello Schiara.
Lake Braies (Pragser Wildsee in German) is a small alpine lake located in Val di Braies (a side valley of the Val Pusteria) to 1,496 m above sea level in the municipality of Braies (BZ), about 97 km from Bolzano. The lake lies at the foot of the rock wall of the Croda del Becco (ted. Seekofel, lad. Sass dla Porta 2,810 m) and is located in the natural park Fanes – Senes and Braies. It covers an area of about 31 hectares with a length of 1.2 km and a width of 300-400 meters. It is one of the deepest lakes in the autonomous province of Bolzano, with 36 meters maximum depth and average depth of the lake is 17 landslide, because its creation is due to the damming of the river Braies due to a landslide detached from the Sasso del Signore. The lake is a popular tourist destination, which attracts the intense blue color of its clear waters and the natural setting in which it is immersed. In fact, the lake is surrounded on three sides by the peaks of the Dolomites, including the Croda del Becco. The lake is the starting point of the High street no. 1 of the Dolomites called “The classic” that goes up to the foot of Belluno Group Schiara.
