Nightfalls. – http://bit.ly/1x8jDD2

This is a reprocess of an older shot that I had posted way back. I saw it and hated what a shitty job I did so decided to do it again.

This waterfall is located on Þjórsá river, Iceland’s longest river, in the south of Iceland. The mountain in the background is called Búrfell, and the volcano Mt. Hekla, which is expected to erupt soon, is close by.

The waterfall is called “Þjófafoss” which in english means “Thieves Falls”. The icelandic word for a thief is “Þjófur” and the icelandic word for “waterfall” is “foss”.

Apparently, thieves were drowned there a long time ago, hence the name.

Dear friends,
I just got back from a great weekend in London.
This year, at the Destinations Holiday & Travel Show, at Olympia, my picture from the Hunt’s Mesa was selected for being exhibited, as finalist in the Wanderlust Travel Photographer of The Year Competition.

That view is from a stunning sunset on the Monument Valley, photographed from the remote rock formation known as The Hunt’s Mesa. You can visit this amazing place only with the help of a Navajo guide which will drive you on a jeep along the most amazing and rugged way you could ever imagine.

There is a unique seashore where I visit every time I go back to my home town, Ibaraki, Japan.

This set of unique shape of rocks were (claimed to be) remaining of Jurassic era.

The rocks themselves look like the backbones of dinosaur don’t they?
