The rugged canyons, sandstone spires and mesas of Canyonlands National Park are lit orange by a setting sun after a rainstorm as seen from The White Rim Trail near Moab, Utah. The canyons have been cut over eons by water, wind and the elements creating a rugged landscape that are a playground for adventurers and hideaways for outlaws.

“Island of Light” – La Gomera

It´s not only the shape of a landscape that makes it typical. Other sensual properties, such as smell and perception of light make a striking landscape. With a little dense in the air and warm sunlight just before sunset I would describe coastal-light. The small and rugged island of La Gomera pictures a very fine example.

Antarctica is probably the wildest place on earth. It’s very remote, the climate is extreme, the terrain is treacherous, and tourism is highly regulated. Over the past years, I have visited this amazing continent several times, and each time I’m baffled by the awe-inspiring landscape. If you like rugged scenery, floating ice and reflections, this is it.

If you’re interested in joining me next year on a landscape and wildlife photography trip of a lifetime, please check out my website for more pictures, a tour impression video clip, and a detailed PDF:
