The Hunt’s Mesa by ronnybas

Dear friends,
I just got back from a great weekend in London.
This year, at the Destinations Holiday & Travel Show, at Olympia, my picture from the Hunt’s Mesa was selected for being exhibited, as finalist in the Wanderlust Travel Photographer of The Year Competition.

That view is from a stunning sunset on the Monument Valley, photographed from the remote rock formation known as The Hunt’s Mesa. You can visit this amazing place only with the help of a Navajo guide which will drive you on a jeep along the most amazing and rugged way you could ever imagine.

Dynjandi is certainly one of the most fascinating waterfalls I have ever seen. There is such an innate beauty and majesty about it that is hard to capture. I knew I was in for something special when the veil of fog appeared, which added another quality to the already very mystical scenery.

This is one of many stitched long exposure panoramic shots I had to do at 24mm for the loss of my Canon 16-35mm f/4 on the very first day of my trip (you might notice that I am still upset about its electronic failure and that I still mention it on every uploaded photo- my apologies). The reward however is an insanely sharp and detailed final image.

This is my effort of doing this waterfall and all its majesty justice. Hope you like it as well.

Pic on the left was taken 13 weeks ago, the one on the right was taken yesterday. The only noticeable gains are my beard growth and my tattoo having more ink added 😫. But that’s because I’ve struggled to make time to get into the gym with so many other things being the priority during those 13 weeks. That’s not uncommon for many of us, life has a way of changing even the best intentions and plans. But every new day is an opportunity to keep trying, and yesterday was Day 1 (again) of that effort not to give up on improving my health. Don’t give up on being a better version of yourself, be it physical, spiritual, and emotional, and don’t punish yourself or make yourself feel guilty for not being where you want to be today,…and definitely don’t compare your progress or life with anyone else’s. Success and growth in anything requires one important thing…effort. As long as you keep putting forth the effort, keep trying, and don’t give up, you will improve, you will change and you WILL become a better version of yourself!
