Last January I went to Lake Eibsee with my buddy Michael. Our annual trip into the Alps between the holidays was fantastic again. Until well into the night we spent our time on the banks of the lake. The incredible scenery of nature is sometimes almost incomprehensible beautiful.

Guardians of the Snow Chapel by StefanHefele

“Guardians of the Snow Chapel” – Bavaria/Germany – Pano out of three verticals at 14mm

I’ve been on a forest shooting several km off from here as suddenly this location came into my mind. Impulsively I took my chance and drove till I reached the little chapel just minutes before it got dark. Take a closer look – you can recognize the chapel at the end of the avenue. As suspected the conditions were perfect. Dense fog and a touch of snow put the avenue of limes into the right gloomy light.
Due to its close perspective I had to stitch a panorama out of three verticals at 14mm.

“Island of Light” – La Gomera

It´s not only the shape of a landscape that makes it typical. Other sensual properties, such as smell and perception of light make a striking landscape. With a little dense in the air and warm sunlight just before sunset I would describe coastal-light. The small and rugged island of La Gomera pictures a very fine example.

Moonlit Night by StefanHefele

“Moonlit Night” – Bavaria – Germany

We are in the middle of an icy winter night. Soft moonlight is shining through thin clouds and a frosty silence lies across the country. During snow is crunching under my feet, I try not to ruin the white beauty. I have already visited this tree more times, but for the first time in moonlight. With pleasure I allow myself a cup of baked-apple-mulled-wine until I trudge back gently.

Wir befinden uns in einer eisigen Winternacht. Weiches Mondlicht scheint durch dünne Wolken und eine eisige Stille liegt über dem Land. Während der Schnee unter meinen Füßen knirscht, versuche ich so wenig wie möglich von der Schönheit zu zerstören. Ich habe diesen Baum schon öfters besucht, doch zum ersten mal im Mondlicht. Genüsslich gönne ich mir eine Tasse Bratapfel-Glühwein bis ich wieder sachte zurück stapfe.
