Bagan was always going to be the highlight of the trip to Burma. I’d seen so many photos of the place, but nothing could have prepared me for the majesty of the place on my first sunrise there.

I shot for almost 3 hours, from pre-dawn, through the sun rising, to capturing warm light on the temples nearby.

This has to be one of the most stunning places to see the sunrise on the planet, and it’s certainly the most amazing morning I’ve ever had photographing the dawn.

This is a panorama of two images.
