A beautiful Fall evening at the Columbia River Gorge. The mighty Columbia River (fourth largest river by volumn in the United States) seperates the borders of Washington State and the State of Oregon. This image is taken from the Washigton side. This Bald Eagle was soaring high over the Nooksack River (seen in the background) on an early winter morning hunt for spawning salmon. The Nooksack River is located in the Mt Baker region in Northern Washington State near the Canadian border. This area is near the town of Deming, Washington and is believed to have the largest concentration of Bald Eagles in the lower 48 states during the salmon runs. THOR’S WELL REVISITED:

To photograph ThorsWell the way I wanted required putting myself in harms way. When a big wave rolls in this hole erupts like a geyser. The trick is to catch it with a long exposure as it rolls back out without getting knocked down by a rouge. Suffice it to say I got wet…

I’m going back through images from last year’s adventures looking for some images to refinish in Onone, Inc.’s new Perfect Suite 9. I really like how this one came out. It was an awesome night with great friends, wet clothes and unfortunately a sprained ankle.

This and other new prints are available for online order here Handmade limited editions and large installation prints will be available soon. My new print studio is nearly finished.

Hiking along and above the Pedernales River in Texas, I took this scenic image. Shortly before, shooting this landscape, I had heard a buzzing coming from some nearby cover and I knew from experience that it was a rattlesnake. I gave it a wide berth and continued on my hike.

Snowy Owls typically migrate down to Washington State every 5-7 years depending on food availability. I encountered this amazing bird just after sunrise one very cold winter morning on Damon Point located in the coastal town of Ocean Shores. He/She flew directly at me at one point staring intently as if challenging me to a game of chicken! Thank you for viewing, voting and /or any constructive comments!
