Milford Sound, Fiordland National Park, New Zealand.

A vertical composition of a previously uploaded image.

I planned 3 days at Milford Sound as I have heard it is one of the wettest places on earth with 8000mm of rainfall per year and that the peaks were obscured by clouds most of the time.
As it turned out all 3 of my days there were completely blue skies and clear nights, except for this small group of clouds that showed up just as the sunset on my second day there. Then the clouds disappeared as quickly as they came.

Please view on a black background.

3 exposures were blended for dynamic range in this scene.

The Kea is a large species of parrot found in forested and alpine regions of the South Island of New Zealand. They are very curious birds and are very good at vandlising cars. 500px.com/photo/56430774
