Muscat Oman This is arguably be one of the most beautiful contemporary buildings in the World and I am happy to have been able to visit and take photos. The seating capacity is a maximum of 1,100 people and the acoustics are superb. The little screens on the back of the seats are a special feature of this concert theatre giving you subtitles of the classic songs performed in the language of your choice. The building opened its doors officially October 12, 2011 after building started in 2007 on the order of the ruler of Oman, Sultan Qaboos. The aim was to reach perfection in design, technology and workmanship and I think they have come close. Used the Panasonic Micro 4/3 camera as you don’t want to take a massive camera to a classical music performance, but with the Samyang fisheye I am happy with the result. Photo details: Exposure 2 sec at f/ (ISO 200), Camera Panasonic DMC-G3 with a Samyang lens at 7.5 mm. Photo by: Iwillbehomesoon. Taken pre-war in 2010 in one of the fresh produce markets in downtown Latakia. The various shopkeepers were having fun with us as we walked through snapping away. This guy didn’t mean any malevolence as his smile shows but he did find it funny anyone would want to take a photo of him. One can only wonder what his life must be like now though I believe Latakia has been spared much of the violence and carnage that other Syrian cities have experienced. 500px.com/photo/56346606
